The Healthy Red Juice (Beetroot-Cucumber-Pineapple Juice)

The first time I tasted beetroot juice was at a juice center in Tahoe, and frankly, I wasn't too impressed. But I knew that not all things are meant just for your taste buds, and beet is something that is really a boon for your body. It cleanses your system and increases haemoglobin, alongwith purifying your blood. So the challenge was to keep trying some combinations with beet till I found a concoction that was healthy and comparably tasty. Also, my diet plan had taught me that cucumber and apple are 2 other things that work well for the body, and also go well together. So I experimented with these flavors and came up with the following drink recipe which I am sure will appeal to your body system and your tongue! Due to lack of imagination, I just named it "The Healthy Red Drink"

Ingredients
1 small grated cucumber
1 grated beetroot
1/2 cup grated pineapple
4 apples - cut in 4
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp grated ginger (optional)

Method
Blend the beetroot, ginger, pineapple and cucumber along with water. Boil the apple cubes and grind along with the sugar. Then mix with the other juice and again ouree everything together to form an even juice. Strain the mixture, then pour it into glasses. Garnish with ice cubes and mint leaves and serve chilled.

This juice is not only tasty, it serves as a toxin-remover for the entire body. So drink this at least once a week; your body will surely thank you for this!

Nice recipe Mansi, what is the garnish? It doesn't look like mint leaves... rosemary?

Nice combo.

I actually love beetroot juice (combined with other things). Can I throw this all into my juicer? Will it still be so good?

That's interesting! I would never think of getting these ingredients together to make a tasty juice... :-) Question: did you design your blog template? It looks nice with the tabs on top.

Richa - apples ne thoda boil kar to better thaste aavshe..baki everything is raw

Sig - yes, it is rosemary, but it didn't taste good:) so I suggest stick to mint for garnish:D

Vegeyum - throwing everything in together might be ok, but not as tasty...I think the apples cooked a bit then blended gives a better taste:)

Yum! Beets make such good juice. I also love carrot, beet, and celery together with a little apple. As a juice, it's terrific.

Hi.... I just tried this by simply putting all the ingredients through my juicer. It took me a quarter of the time and I think worked out great!!! Tasted absolutely delicious!!

I also left out the sugar...I think it's more than sweet enough already with the pineapple and apple included! Great recipe...thanks!!! :))

juice looks pretti delicious and nutricious also. but i wud like to ask that why apple is aked to boiled with the sugar and then pureed? why not other ingrediants like beet cucumber and p/a not boiled? please clearify this. thanks

shaikh, there's no particular reason for boiling the apple, except the fact that boiled apple gives out vitamins that are easier to digest. Plus, I used the recipe as given to me by the juice center person in Tahoe, so I followed it:)

you definitely should NOT boil ginger and cucumber, they'll lose their natural taste. but you could boil beet, however, raw beet has more nutritious content than cooked one.

hope this clarifies things:)

I suggested to not to put sugar in any fruit or vegetable juices. Natural sweetness of fruit and vegetable is just enough to sweeten the drink and it is healthier without sugar, especially white one which is bad for our health.
